Remind 101 is one of the best business tools for a tutor. Right now because it is in beta phase, it's FREE! Basically, Remind 101 sets up a number for you to send texts to your tutoring students. My most favorite feature is that you can schedule a message!
I recommend you use the app to schedule special messages to your students on a test day that you know of or to remind parents when tutoring is (especially after a long holiday). Let me emphasize, students will only be able to receive messages from you. It's one app that I hope doesn't go away any time soon.
