Brain Tower: Getting To Know You

When a student arrives for tutoring, you need to get to know them.  Brain Tower can make this a fun and easy way to start a conversation.  In this game, you will have to play with your student.  Here are some suggested quesetions/statements you could write on the blocks:

Favorite color
Do you like sports?
What subject do you like the most?
What subject do you like the least?
What are you good at?
Favorite food
What do you like to do when school is out?
Do tests make you nervous?
Do you study?
Have any pets?
Things that make you nervous
One thing that drives you bonkers
A game you like
One thing you would like to learn about
One thing that bores you
What subject is hardest for you?
Who's your friends?
Do you like playing outside or inside?

After you play this game, you should get a better feel for your student.  Try to plan some lessons that involve their likes.
